There are moments that deserve to be marked, and this was one of them.

After months of tireless effort, generous support, and a whole lot of belief, the Glenuig community came together to celebrate something truly historic: securing the funds to purchase Glenuig Inn as a community-owned asset.

On Tuesday, locals gathered outside the Inn to toast the success of the community buyout. The mood was joyful and relaxed, full of familiar faces and new connections. There were heartfelt speeches, shared stories, and a real sense that something special had been achieved together.

The chalkboard outside said it all: We did it!

Sarah and Tomasz, the incredible duo behind the Inn’s kitchen, laid on a spread of delicious snacks. Their food, consistently praised in glowing TripAdvisor reviews, helped make the celebration even more memorable.

They are just part of a wider team that we’re incredibly proud of. In a season when finding and keeping hospitality staff has been a challenge across the Highlands, the Glenuig Inn has been fortunate to have a core team who bring warmth, humour and a welcoming energy to everything they do.

Regulars and visitors alike have commented on how friendly, helpful and positive our team are - and we couldn’t agree more.

This celebration wasn’t just about funding or ownership. It was about community. About showing what’s possible when people pull together. From broadband and a village shop to the History House and a coastal rowing skiff, the people of Glenuig continue to shape a future built on shared values and collective effort.

The Inn is the final piece of the puzzle. And this week, we raised a glass to that.

Here’s to community spirit, good food, great people, and the next chapter of the Glenuig Inn story.
