"The Food Will Do the Talking" – A Taste of What Community Ownership Can Protect

We recently received a message that made our day—and reminded us why this community buyout matters so much. It read:

"I just wanted to let you know that we were all thrilled by how good the food was, and the choice of dishes. We had 3 different plates: 2 venison pasta, one wild garlic pesto pasta, and one pork burger, and all you could hear was the sound of scraping plates! One of us also had the pannacotta and loved it. Hot plates for the mains, too—a personal must-have. The price point was right for me at least. All in all, great food, nicely cooked and presented. And if there’s a message to your share buyers: the food will do the talking. Well done!"

To the guest who took the time to share this—thank you.

Your words capture everything we’re working to protect: warm hospitality, fresh and thoughtful food, and a place that makes people feel welcome and well-fed.

That’s the soul of Glenuig Inn. And it’s why community ownership matters.

This is more than just an inn—it’s a gathering place, a local employer, a link between land and people. It’s a place where travellers and neighbours alike come together to enjoy good food and great company.

By supporting the community buyout, you’re helping us secure this space for future generations.

Here’s how you can get involved:

🔹Apply for shares and become a co-owner of something truly special

🔹Donate to our crowdfunder—every bit helps

🔹Prefer to give directly? You can make a donation straight to our community bank account

🔹 Share our story and spread the word

We’re so proud of the team, and of the food that’s bringing people together. And yes—the food will do the talking.

Let’s make sure this standard of hospitality, flavour, and welcome lives on for years to come.
