We’ve got big news. That’s us officially accredited as a Scottish Living Wage Employer! 🎉
What does that mean? It means we’ve made a formal, public commitment to fair pay for fair work—and we now have the badge to prove it.
But this isn’t just about a logo. It’s about our values. About community wealth. About why this buyout matters.

A Living Wage, Right Here in Glenuig
As a small rural business with big heart, we’re proud to pay above the minimum wage—and now, we’ve joined a growing movement of over 3,500 Scottish employers who are doing the same. That includes charities, cafes, social enterprises and FTSE 100 companies.
But in Glenuig, it matters even more.
Living Wage accreditation helps us:
💼 Provide secure, year-round local employment
🌱 Create entry-level jobs for young people with training and real progression
🧡 Offer flexible, fairly-paid work that supports our staff’s wellbeing
🏡 Keep more money circulating locally—instead of draining out of our communities
And it's just the beginning.
A Community-Owned Future Starts with Fair Work
We believe that the best businesses are rooted in people. In care, community and sustainability. That’s why we’re working hard to bring Glenuig Inn into community ownership—so it can thrive long-term as a social enterprise that puts people before profit.
When you support the buyout, you're helping us:
· 🌊 Secure a local employer that already pays the real Living Wage
· 🧭 Create more jobs, training and apprenticeships for local young folk
· 🔧 Grow a stronger, more resilient rural economy for everyone
So How Can You Help?
We’ve got until Monday 21st April 2025 to reach our £300,000 maximum share offer goal. Here are three ways you can make a difference:
1. Buy a share (from £25 for local applicants!) and become part of this powerful community movement
2. Make a donation (either via direct donation or our popular crowd funder) – every penny helps us reach the finish line
3. Spread the word – tell your pals, your granny, your workmates!
This buyout isn’t just about bricks and mortar. It’s about making Glenuig a better place to live and work—for generations to come.
